eGauge Monitoring Systems

Energy Meter + Online User Interface

Energy monitoring systems have become an essential feature of efficiency-conscious homes. Houses or apartments with an eGauge have a window to their energy performance. With this new energy information, you can feel confident that you’re not wasting energy or paying utility companies more than necessary. In addition, eGauge protects your renewable energy investments by monitoring for unexpected equipment failure. With the ability to measure whole-home energy usage and solar generation, the eGauge helps to reduce energy costs, optimize energy production, and protect your assets.

Measure Solar PV

Solar PV monitoring comes standard with every eGauge. Protect your home's solar panels and inverters by tracking system performance in real time and using automatic alerts to stay informed of system health.

Improve Energy Efficiency

Adding LED lights or a new high-efficiency mini-split to your house? Track exactly how many kilowatts these upgrades save and get the confidence to continue making improvements that reduce energy costs and environmental impact.

Save Money

The smallest power consumers often go unnoticed in a home. These lights, clocks, chargers, etc., can add up to significant costs throughout the year. In addition, larger equipment, such as pool pumps, can run up large bills if left unattended. Use eGauge to prevent unnecessary costs from these electronics and save money throughout the year.

User Interface

The eGauge user interface presents energy being used and energy being generated by solar panels or other renewable systems simultaneously. The example to the right shows about 2 days of second by second measurements. In the example, you can see the changes to solar energy generation (green) and electricity being used by different circuits in the home (red). The large left portion of the graph displays recent time-stamped data, whereas the right column is a gauge that updates each second and displays instantaneous watts (W) or kilowatts (kW).

Energy Meter Options

The eGauge is highly customizable to fit your most basic or complex monitoring projects!

Every eGauge has the same integral features. Each can measure 3 voltage inputs (≤ 277Vac L-N, ≤ 480Vac L-L), a DC voltage input (+/- 60Vdc), multiple currents up to 4800A, local data storage for the lifetime of the hardware, free remote access using the secure eGauge proxy server, pre-installed firmware and free firmware upgrades. All eGauges have an Ethernet port for network communication. 2.4 GHz WiFi communication is optional on the eGauge Core and Pro. The eGauge Core has 15 sensor inputs while the Pro has 30.

Ethernet Direct

The Ethernet direct option allows you to connect directly to a network source for the most reliable data signal.

WiFi

eGauge Core and Pro wifi meters are available with built-in 2.4 GHz wireless networking, allowing you to skip the fuss of running wire or setting up a network access point.

Serial

Every eGauge Core and Pro meter has 2x USB ports that supports exporting serial data via Modbus RTU and BACnet MS/TP using the USB485 converter. Learn about all the available protocols on an eGauge meter here.
