HomePlug Adapter

HomePlug Adapter

The eGauge main unit communicates with your computer via the building's power lines using the HomePlug protocol. A standard HomePlug 1.0-compatible HomePlug adapter is required to convert the HomePlug signal on the power line back to an Ethernet signal. An Ethernet cable plugged into the HomePlug adapter is then connected to your local area network (LAN). Typically, the cable is connected into an available Ethernet jack on your broadband router, on an Ethernet switch, or any Ethernet wall-jack in your home or office.

If you already own a HomePlug 1.0 (14 Mbps) adapter or a HomePlug 1.0 with Turbo (85 Mbps) adapter, there is usually no need to purchase an additional adapter. Otherwise, please order a HomePlug adapter along with the eGauge main unit. Unless the building is very large, a single adapter can support dozens of eGauge main units.
